On May 2nd, we held a workshop titled “Visiting Kobe University”.
In the first half of the program, we had detailed sessions on the physics (Dr. Suehara), detectors (Dr. Otani), and accelerators (Dr. Sakai) related to ILC and Higgs Factory (HF). We reviewed the current status and key challenges in each area, and shared the relevant baseline and discussed potential research topics that could be pursued in collaboration with researchers involved in projects beyond the HF. The workshop was attended by approximately 30 members from the Kobe University Particle Physics Laboratory, and we had active discussions throughout the session.
In the second half, we are invited to give a seminar as part of the Kobe University Physics Department’s colloquium. The audience included researchers in matter physics, theoretical physicists, and graduate students—around 50 participants in total. Representing ILC-Japan, Dr. Ishino gave a talk titled “The Future of Particle Physics Unfolded by High-Energy Accelerators”, in which he presented the current state of particle physics, its future directions, and the roadmap toward realizing the next-generation flagship project: a Higgs Factory including the ILC. Dr. Ishino also introduced the project outlook and global context, and engaged in discussions with the audience.
